Symptom

In BusinessObjects Enterprise XI Release 2, a Desktop Intelligence report is created and saved in Microsoft Excel format. When it is opened in Excel, many extra columns have been added to the report.

This causes any formula or calculation to not work correctly in the Excel version of the report.
