1182647 - Special characters encoding in text files changed from ANSI in v5 to UTF8 in Business Objects XI

Symptom

  • After the Business Objects version 5 migration to XI platform, Desktop Intelligence has a different behavior from Business Objects version 5 when a .rep file is saved as text file.
  • Strange characters are displayed in other applications like Ultra-Edit while in Notepad the correct characters appears
  • Accented characters does not display properly in some applications
