If you have entered an incorrect registration number in Crystal Reports XI Release 1, how do you correct it without having to reinstall?

The following resolution involves editing the registry. Using
the Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may
require you to reinstall the Microsoft Windows operating system.
Use the Registry Editor at your own risk. It is strongly
recommended that you make a backup copy of the registry files
before you edit the registry. For information on how to edit the
registry key, view the 'Changing Keys And Values' online Help topic
in the Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).

1. Click Start > Run.
2. Enter "regedit" to launch the Registry Editor.
3. Browse to one of the following Registry sub keys (depending on if you are using the Standard, Professional or Developer Edition respectively):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.0\Crystal Reports\Keycodes\CR Std\Serial
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.0\Crystal Reports\Keycodes\CR Pro\Serial
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.0\Crystal Reports\Keycodes\CR Dev\Serial
4. Right-click Serial then click Modify.
5. In the Value data text box, enter your registration number. Click OK.
6. Close the Registry Editor to exit and complete the process.
