1184935 - Class file not created for Strong-typed report in Crystal Reports 2008

Symptom

When adding a report to a Crystal Reports 2008 .NET project, the associated class file is not created.

Cause

This issue can occur if Crystal Reports 2008 is installed side-by-side with Crystal Reports XIR2 and then Crystal Reports XIR2 is uninstalled.  This scenario will affect the integration of Crystal Reports 2008 such that when creating a new report in Visual Studio will only create a Report file and not its associated class file.

Resolution

To avoid this issue, if only Crystal Reports 2008 will be used for development purposes, uninstall Crystal Reports XIR2 before installing Crystal Reports 2008.
