1185695 - Where does Business Objects look for shared libraries in UNIX based operating systems?

Symptom

On Windows systems, Dynamically Linked Libraries (DLL) are registered with the operating system. These registrations create registry entries which allow dependant DLLs to be able to locate the other libraries at runtime.

The UNIX equivalent of these DLLs are called Shared Objects (SO). In UNIX, these libraries are not registered with the operating system, instead they are searched for through paths, each of which is different depending on which type of UNIX is being used.

What are the different paths for each operating system that are searched in order to find libraries for BusinessObjects Enterprise as well as database client libraries?
