1189024 - Error: "[repo_proxy 13] SessionFacade::openSession - (com.crystaldecisions.sdk.exception.SDKException$SecurityError: Active Directory Authentication failed to log you on..." in RCT using AD SSO

Symptom

When trying to use Microsoft Active Directory (AD) single sign-on (SSO) with the Report Conversion Tool (RCT) an error message appears: 
 
"[repo_proxy 13] SessionFacade::openSession - (com.crystaldecisions.sdk.exception.SDKException$SecurityError: Active Directory Authentication failed to log you on. Please contact your system administrator to make sure you are a member of a valid mapped group and try again.
cause:javax.security.auth.login.LoginException: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: EncryptionKey: Key bytes cannot be null!"
