Symptom
The Connection Name (Optional) is a field available when
creating JDBC data sources for Crystal Reports in the Crystal
Report designer.
What this field refers to is an optional JNDI name; the
designer will attempt to connect using this name before attempting
to use the JDBC connection info stored in the data source.
In the JRC if this field in filled in but the application is
not configured for JNDI, the report will fail to run.
Cause
The cause of this is that the JRC is less flexible in its
handling of datasources than the designer.
It will not fail over to the JDBC connection info if the JNDI
name is not configured, it will simply error out.
Resolution
Remove the connection name info from the data source, and the
report will run in JRC.
