1197501 - Error: "An error has occurred while refreshing the Data provider" when attempting to build an analytic based on a universe query

In BusinessObjects Dashboard Manager XI, an analytic is built based on a universe query. When attempting to view the analytic, the following error message appears:

"An error has occurred while refreshing the Data provider".

The error message occurs regardless of the analytic type chosen.

A Web Intelligence report can be written successfully in InfoView using the same metric universe that is used to build the analytic.

The metric universe passes the integrity check both in Designer and in the Tools section of the Performance Management setup. It was also exported to the repository and updated within PM setup.

Environment details are as follows:
