1197599 - How to hide a universe to users but enable it when linked to other universes

Symptom

You want to hide a universe to users, but enable it when it is linked to other universes.

In Business Objects Enterprise XI Release 2 the security model follows a folder/object permissions structure.

For this reason, given a derived universe B containing the link to core universe A, if a user or group has "no access" rights to A and tries to build a report off universe B, the following error message appears:

"Cannot load linked universes (UNV0011)"

In order to hide a specific universe from the list of available universes for a given user or group, it is necessary to modify the access rights in the Central Management Console (CMC) and manually copy the core universe locally.
