1198675 - Error: "Your request could not be completed because a failure occurred" when trying to export a Crystal report to PDF format

Symptom

  • In BusinessObjects Enterprise XI Release 2 on Solaris, when scheduling a report to PDF format or exporting from a viewer to PDF format, the following error message appears:
    • "Object failed to run due to an error while processing on the Job Server"
  • Also, users are unable to view report instances using the Advanced DHTML viewer, resulting in Report Application Server (RAS) core dumping.

    • Solaris 8 with patch 119067-08 or greater
    • Solaris 9 with patch 112785-62 or greater
    • Solaris 10 with patch 119059-30 or greater
