1198903 - Error 'Logon failed. Error in File UNKNOWN.RPT: Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters. (RptControllers.dll)' in Crystal Reports

Symptom

Using native connection to Informix database, when you create a new parameter, you get the error.

'Logon failed. Error in File UNKNOWN.RPT: Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters. (RptControllers.dll)'

Cause

If the report contains LOV, dynamic parameters or even subreports, Crystal Reports use more than one connection to the same database.

That means that the report uses multi-threaded data sources.

Resolution

Crystal Reports does not support the native connection to Informix database as multi-threaded data source.

The native connection of Informix database cannot be shared between different threads, the ODBC connection is recommended to avoid the issue.
