1199547 - Crystal Reports 2008 Redistributable package does not create Crystalreportviewers12 virtual directory on IIS7

Symptom

When deploying Crystal Reports 2008 runtime to a Vista computer running Microsoft Internet Information Services 7 (IIS7), the Crystalreportviewers12 virtual directory is not created. This behavior only occurs when deploying an application compiled for the 1.1 ASP.NET framwork (version 1.1.4322). The Crystalreportviewers12 virtual directory is not required for applications compiled for the 2.0 framework.

Cause

In IIS7, the IIS 6 Management Compatability component does not automatically install.

Resolution

To resolve this behavior, install the IIS6 Management compatability component in Add/Remove Windows Components section of the Add or Remove Programs dialog box by clicking:

Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features. Click Turn Windows Features on or off and then navigate to:
Internet Information Services > Web Management Tools > IIS 6 Management Capability Feature.
