1199950 - Error: "...first chance exception of type 'com.crystaldecisions.common.keycode..." when using Crystal Reports XI Release 2 in Visual Studio .NET 2008

Symptom

When creating an application in Visual Studio 2008, using Crystal Reports XI Release 2, the following error message appears:

"A first chance exception of type 'com.crystaldecisions.common.keycode.KeycodeException.ReadingFromRegistry' occurred in BusinessObjects.Licensing.KeycodeDecoder.dll".

Cause

Crystal Reports XI Release 2 (v11.5) is not supported with Visual Studios .NET 2008.

Resolution

Please refer to Business Objects Note 1204877 for more information on which full versions of Crystal Reports will integrate with Microsoft's Visual Studio .NET 2008.

NOTE: At the time of writing, Business Objects has no plans to update Crystal Reports XI R2 to integrate with Visual Studio .NET 2008.
