1202530 - Error: "HTTP Status 500"" when attempting to log on to Java InfoView using Active Directory

Symptom

In BusinessObjects Enterprise XI Release 2, when attempting to log on to Java InfoView using Active Directory and Single Sign-On, a lengthy error message appears beginning with the following:

"HTTP Status 500 - com.wedgetail.idm.sso.ProtocolException"".
