Symptom
While exporting a report file that contains a formula field to
PDF format, you notice the field is truncated in the PDF
file.
Cause
This could occur for two reasons. First, formula fields do not
contain the option "Can Grow", so if the formula field is truncated
in the Crystal Reports designer it will also be truncated in the
exported PDF file. Second, if the formula field expands past the
page margins, then it will be truncated.
Resolution
Expand the formula field horizontally rather then vertically
so that the field will wrap correctly to the second line. If this
is not an option then it would be mandatory to ensure that the
formula field is completely visible (not truncated) via the Crystal
Report Designer. Choosing a printer driver that allows for larger
page dimensions would allow for additional design room and support
the export of larger objects.
