1206134 - A large number of bo processes are created when starting Business Objects Enterprise XIr2 servers on a Linux server

Symptom

When starting Apache Tomcat (./tomcatstartup.sh) and the Business Objects Enterprise XIr2 servers (./startservers) with the Business Objects account on a Linux machine that has Oracle installed on it as well, many unnecessary bo processes (hundreds) are loaded into memory. These processes are not actively used by the applications on the server. The server runs out of memory very quickly because of all the redundant processes.
This behaviour can be shown using the "top" command in Linux.
