1206148 - Error: "Unable to connect to CMS <servername>" returned when using full Domain Name Server (DNS) name for server when logging in through Desktop Intelligence/Designer


The error message:

[repo_proxy 13] SessionFacade::openSessionLogon with user info has failed(Unable to connect to CMS <hostname>.  A wrong connection is made to @@<hostname>(<hostname>).  Logon cannot continue.(hr=#0x80042a79)

is returned when connecting to a Central Management Server (CMS) using the full DNS name although a ping using the full name is successful.


This can also occur when using network address translation (NAT)
