1206217 - Crystal Reports XI generates an incorrect SQL statement when a Left Outer join is used after applying updates

Symptom

When a report is being used with CR XI contains 3 or more tables that are linked together with Left Outer joins to a single database connection, the SQL statement generated is incorrect and multiple Select statements are being seen within the SQL statement instead of a single SQL Statement. If the same 3 tables are linked with an Inner Join, the correct SQL Statement is being generated.

The issue occurs only when outer joins are used in a report once SP3 or any CHF (created after SP3) has been applied to Crystal Reports.

Cause

The problem is caused by the crqe.dll file version found in the COMMON FILES location.

The issue has been identified and tracked under ID ADAPT00735187.

A hot fix is available so that Crystal Reports XI now generates the correct SQL statement when a Left Outer join is used. Hot Fixes or Service Packs address this issue as indicated below. With the update(s), this issue is resolved.
