1206679 - A red X appears in place of images

Symptom

A red X appears in place of images in InfoView DHTML Viewer.  Multiple versions of the .Net framework were present on the machine prior to BusinessObjects Enterprise installation including .Net 2.0 or higher. IIS 6 is being used.

Cause

This issue occurs when our .net applications run using an unsupported version of the .Net framework.

Resolution

  1. Open Internet Information Services Manager
  2. Locate and expand the website where Business Objects Enterprise has been deployed (by default this is "Default Web Site")
  3. Right click the "crystalreportsviewers11" application and select properties
  4. Locate and select the ASP.NET tab.
  5. Note the "ASP.NET version" information " if you are seeing a red X in place of images and version 2.0 or higher is displayed, this is the problem.
  6. Ensure that a supported version of the .Net framework has been selected (1.0 or 1.1) " apply the changes.
