Symptom

When creating an Oracle linked server on a SQL Server database, if a Web Intelligence report"s data source is on the linked server the following error message appears when refreshing the report:

Database error: [Microsoft][SQL Native Client][SQL Server]The operation could not be performed because the OLE DB provider 'MSDAORA' was unable to begin a distributed transaction. Contact your Business Objects administrator or database supplier for more information. (Error: WIS 10901)
