Symptom
When installing BusinessObjects Enterprise XI Release 2
SP2 on a UNIX server, the following error message
appears:
"Segmentation Fault - core dumped".
No installer logs are generated in <BOINSTALL>/logs
folder. You have already confirmed the recommended operating system
patches as suggested in the BusinessObjects Recommended Settings
guide. You have already checked the user permissions and ulimit
settings.
The installer fails with the following messages on your
console -
"Performing post-install steps...
Creating symlinks...
Symlink creation completed.
Setting up configuration files in /app/boxi/bobje/data/.bobj
Starting MySQL server...
Now initializing components...
Initialization of components completed.
Updating configuration entries...
Now updating entries...
Segmentation Fault - core dumped
Segmentation Fault - core dumped".
Creating symlinks...
Symlink creation completed.
Setting up configuration files in /app/boxi/bobje/data/.bobj
Starting MySQL server...
Now initializing components...
Initialization of components completed.
Updating configuration entries...
Now updating entries...
Segmentation Fault - core dumped
