1207420 - Poor performance when refreshing old reports based on Pervasive 8 and above in the latest version of Crystal Reports

Symptom

  • Report performance issue when connecting to Pervasive.
  • Reports with a Pervasive SQL database connection, created in an earlier version, have an incorrect data synchronization resulting in poor performance.

Environment

  • SAP Crystal Reports 2020
  • SAP Crystal Reports 2025

Cause

  • Issue with reports created in older version of Crystal Reports that connected to Pervasive.

Resolution

  • Add the registry key: AllAtOnce_BackwardCompatible, and set the value to: 1

  1. Close all Crystal Reports.
  2. From the Start menu, click Run.
  3. Type "regedit" and click OK. This opens the Registry Editor.
  4. Navigate to the following registry

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP Business Objects\Suite XI 4.0\Crystal Reports\Export\Database

  5. Create a new key (right-click the Database key and select New > Key), named QueryEngine.
  6. Create a new String Value (right-click the QueryEngine key and select New > String Value), named AllAtOnce_BackwardCompatible and with value of "1"
  7. Close the Registry Editor.
