1208108 - Error: "Your request could not be completed" Please contact your system administrator" when attempting to export a Crystal report in a Solaris environment

Symptom

In BusinessObjects Enterprise XI Release 2 on Solaris, when scheduling a report to PDF format or exporting from a viewer to PDF format, the following error message appears:

"Object failed to run due to an error while processing on the Job Server"

Another symptom would be the inability to view report instances using the Advanced DHTML viewer, resulting in Report Application Server (RAS) core dumping.
