1212458 - Cannot find the 'Difference' menu option when running Modules.exe

On the Crystal Reports 8.0 CD in the Tools folder is Modules.zip (a DLL diagnostic utility). Extract Modules.exe from the Modules.zip.

Run Modules.exe, and go the 'Modules' menu. The 'Difference' menu option cannot be found under the 'Modules' menu.

Crystal Reports 8.0 ships with an older version of Modules.exe (dated 06/30/98) that does not have the 'Difference' menu option. Newer versions of the Modules.exe includes the 'Difference' menu option.

You can download the newer version of Modules.exe from the Business Objects Downloads web page.

Search for Modules.exe by changing Software Product to Crystal Reports, Product Version to 8, and Software Type to Utility and search.

Scroll through the results until you find the Modules utility for DLL usage and diagnosing app termination link.
