1212720 - Troubleshooting tips for the Crystal Reports/Crystal Enterprise Page Server

Symptom

The Crystal Page Server service is a core component of the Crystal Enterprise framework and is essential to dynamic (on-demand) reporting. This functionality was previously only part of the Crystal Reports product line and was not available with the Seagate Info product.

With the introduction of the Crystal Enterprise product the Page Server functionality was included along side the scheduling functionality of Seagate Info. Thus with Crystal Enterprise both managed and unmanaged reports can be run on demand. Sometimes the Page Server service may be unable to do its job due to issues such as:
  • Running under an incorrect user account or an account with insufficient permissions.
  • Database Connectivity Problems
  • Losing Connectivity with the Cache Server
