Symptom
An application uses Crystal Reports as the reporting
development tool.
The application uses a report that connects to a
database using the DataDirect (former Mermant) ODBC
driver (Crxml18.dll).
When the application is distributed to a client
computer, the following error message appears:
"[DataDirect][ODBC XML driver]You are not licensed to
use this DataDirect Technologies ODBC Driver under the
license you have purchased."
Why does this error message appear and how do you
resolve it?
Resolution
This error appears because the license file was not
distributed with the application.
To resolve this error message:
1. Distribute the appropriate license file to the client computer.
" Distribute the license file Qecr.lic if your
application is based on Crystal Reports version
9.2.0.448 and uses Crdb_odbc.dll version 9.2.0.xxx.
" Distribute the license file Ivcr.lic if your
application is based on Crystal Reports version
9.2.3.809 and uses Crdb_odbc.dll version 9.2.1.xxx.
2. Install the license file to the C:\Windows\system32
folder or to the application's working directory.
