Symptom
A Visual Basic application uses the Report Designer Component (RDC) as the reporting development tool. When the application connects to a disconnected ADO recordset, a memory leak occurs and eventually the computer stops responding.
Cause
This issue occurs because rowsets are holding onto other rowsets. This known issue has been assigned Track ID ADAPT00345803.
Resolution
Hot Fixes or Service Packs address this issue as indicated below. With the update(s), this issue is resolved.
Unless indicated otherwise, Weekly Hot Fix updates from the FTP site have only been tested with English versions of our products.
