1218853 - Rotated text field with Japanese vertical font appears blank

A Microsoft Visual Studio .NET application uses Crystal Reports 10 as the reporting development tool.

A text field that has been formatted to use a Japanese vertical font and has the text rotation set to 90 or 270 degrees appears blank.

The issue has been identified and tracked under ID ADAPT00412428.

Hot Fixes or Service Packs address this issue as indicated below. With the update(s), to solve the problem, the rendering method that is used in database fields is also used for text objects.

Unless indicated otherwise, Weekly Hot Fix updates from the FTP site have only been tested with English versions of our products.

For Crystal Reports 10, the latest update for this issue is available on the Downloads area of our web site.

If you have made any modifications to ePortfolio or the Web Desktop in Crystal Enterprise 8.5, 9 or 10, this update may overwrite your custom code in Crystal Server Page (CSP) files. Therefore, it is recommended that you back up your ePortfolio folder before applying the updates.

This issue is addressed in the following components (and later versions):

• CrystalDecisions.Shared.dll, version 10.0.9500.19, dated 4/28/2005
• CrystalDecisions.Shared.resources.dll, version 10.0.9500.19, dated 4/28/2005
