1218925 - Poor performance using mouse in Crystal Reports XI

In Crystal Reports XI and later, there is poor performance when attempting to navigate a report by using the mouse. The behavior includes:

• inability to select a report field with your mouse
• slow to select a field
• no orange border on mouse-over
• CPU usage at or near 100%
• sluggish design task performance
• performing any design-related task, such as highlighting or moving objects, is very slow.

These behaviors occur because of the hardware acceleration setting in Windows.

To resolve these behaviors

1. Right-click the desktop.
2. Click Properties > Settings tab > Advanced > Troubleshoot tab.
3. Adjust the Hardware acceleration settings from Full to None one value at a time until the behaviors are resolved.
