1218985 - Command object parameters list is cleared when command object is edited

Symptom

In Crystal Reports 10, command object parameters can be defined in both the 'Add Command to Report' dialog box and the Field Explorer. When a command object is edited in the 'Add Command to Report' dialog box, the list of available parameter values defined in the Field Explorer is cleared. The values need to be re-entered after each edit of the command object.

Cause

The issue has been identified and tracked under ID ADAPT00455325.

Resolution

Hot Fixes or Service Packs address this issue as indicated below. With the update(s), editing a command object does not clear the list of default parameter values. The only time the default parameter values are cleared is when there is a change of type (i.e. from String to Number) for the parameter.

Known limitations: If default parameter values are needed, it is recommended to use the Field Explorer dialog for all parameter values. When the command object parameter has a default value assigned in the command object, that value may be appended to the end of the default values list in some workflows. The extra values disappear when the parameter is edited in the Field Explorer. The action of editing the parameter in the Field Explorer and clicking the 'OK' button cleans up the extra values, even without making any changes.

Unless indicated otherwise, Critical Hot Fix updates from the FTP site have only been tested with English versions of our products.
