1220027 - Error: "Failed to retrieve data from the database" using .NET dataset driver

Symptom

In BusinessObjects XI Release 2 and Crystal Reports XI, when running a report using the .NET dataset driver (crdb_adoplus.dll) with linked tables and one of the tables has a space in the table name, one of the following error messages appears:

"Failed to retrieve data from the database"

-OR-

"Unknown Database Connector Error".

Cause

The issue has been identified and tracked under ID ADAPT00552984.

Resolution

Hot Fixes or Service Packs address this issue as indicated below. With the update(s), spaces in field names no long affect the previewing or running of reports. All data is returned without error.

Unless indicated otherwise, Critical Hot Fix updates from the FTP site have only been tested with English versions of our products.
