Symptom

  • Launch Crystal Reports.
  • Error: "Application error could not load keycode.dll"

Environment

  • Crystal Reports XI Release 1
  • Crystal Reports XI R2

Cause

Keycode.dll has become corrupted.

Resolution

Uninstall Crystal Reports as specified in Note 1218535.

Reinstall Crystal Reports by doing the following:

  1. Log into the operating system as Administrator.
  2. Stop any anti-virus programmes and other spyware programmes activated in background for other applications.
  3. Install Crystal Reports.
