Symptom

Error during installation;

Error: 'Crystal Reports 2008 setup has failed' during installation’;

Reproducing the Issue

Environment:

Windows 2000 Service Pack 4;
Crystal Reports 2008;

Cause

The operating system is not supported by Crystal Reports 2008

Resolution

Crystal Reports 2008 can only be installed on machines that are using one of the following operating systems:

- Windows Vista (All 32-bit and 64-bit Editions)
- Windows XP SP2 Professional
- Windows Server 2003 SP1 Datacenter Edition
- Windows Server 2003 SP1 Enterprise Edition
- Windows Server 2003 SP1 Standard Edition
- Windows Server 2003 SP1 Web Edition
- Windows Server 2003 R2 Datacenter Edition
- Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition
- Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition
- Windows Server 2003 R2 Web Edition
- Windows Server 2003 SP2 Datacenter Edition
- Windows Server 2003 SP2 Enterprise Edition
- Windows Server 2003 SP2 Standard Edition
- Windows Server 2003 SP2 Web Edition
- Windows Server 2003 (x64 Edition) SP2
