1231767 - CR 2008 "Logon Failed" error when connecting to MSAS Universe

"Logon Failed" after clicking OK on a Query created against a Business Objects Universe based upon an OLAP connection (MSAS 2005, MSAS200)

Create an OLAP Universe based on MSAS 2000 or 2005.

Open Crystal Reports Designer and try to base a new report on this Universe.

You will see that you can see the structure of the Universe, but as soon as you try to select and add tables to your report you get the error 'Logon Failed'.

This is because at this point a connection to the OLAP data source is necessary and the Designer doen't seem to be able to Logon.

According to our Product team OLAP Universes are not supported in Crystal Reports. This concerns all Crystal Reports versions including XI R2 and CR 2008.
