Symptom
The report is designed as a Crosstab in Crystal Reports XI. Running it from the designer issues the following warning:
"The number of rows or columns exceeds its limit, 65535". When pressed OK to continue, it completes the report and brings out the
correct data, which tipically has only 8000 rows. The problem is that when deployed on Enterprise, it seems that it has no way
to express the problem and needs to be manually after terminated, so the run is allways unsuccessful.
Reproducing the Issue
Original report contained 12 crosstabs - all in different group header sections.
3 of the crosstabs in main group headers utilized 13 rows each
These three crosstabs were causing the issue as their removal resulted in no info message and report ran to completion.
Cause
Info messages were just that - one generated (3 total) for each crosstab that contained more than 65,535 rows.
When scheduled the same report is running in the background so info message have no way of getting user input (clicks) so report simply stays in "running" mode.
