Symptom
While using Crystal Reports for Eclipse(CR4E) using JDBC/JNDI Datasource gives "Invalid Connection URL or Database Classname".
Reproducing the Issue
- Create report in Crystal Report XI designer with OCI drivers with following Properties:
- Connection URL is "jdbc:oracle:oci:@<ServiceName_of_Oracle>".
- Database Classname is "oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver".
- Run the report in CR4E (Crystal Report for Eclipse)
- The error Invalid connection URL or Error with JNDI Datasource is received.
- Crystal Report Designer XI
- Oracle 10g
- JDBC Connectivity with OCI drivers
Cause
- Connection URL “{userid}/{password}@<database name>" in Set Datasource Location Properties in Crystal Reports designer is incorrect .
Resolution
- Upgrade Crystal Report Designer from XI to XI R2.
- Reports are redesigned in Crystal Report Designer XI R2 using the above shown URL.
