1254178 - Enhanced Excel 2007 and 2010 (.xlsx) file formats do not work as expected with BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.x

Symptom

  • New Excel 2007 and 2010 file extension .xlsx is not recognised by BusinessObjects XI 3.x.
  • Excel 2007 and 2010 format .xlsx has capability for ~1 Million rows, but when saving to .xls format from BusinessObjects, output is still limited to 65536 rows.
  • Excel 2007 and 2010 format .xlsx has capability for 16,348 columns, but when saving to .xls format from BusinessObjects, output is still limited to 256 rows.
