1255295 - Transport Error: Invalid Object Reference / Communication Failure error in event viewer after restarting Webintelligence Report Server

Symptom

After restarting the Web Intelligence Report Server the event viewer shows the following errors

  • Transport Error: Invalid Object Reference
  • Transport Error: Communication Failure

Alternatively, on a system that had previously been working

  • Web Intelligence Reports will not open
  • An internal error occured while calling the 'openDocumentMDP' API. (Error:WIS 30270)
