1256244 - Values don't appear in Xcelsius XY chart

Symptom

Values don't appear in Xcelsius XY chart when refreshing from SOAP/WSDL. When the default Excel data used, it

displays correctly, but when the spreadsheet is filled dynamically as a result of the SOAP call, there is no data in the chart. The values coming in from the web service are 'dates'

Reproducing the Issue

Create a web service that returns dates in a 'string' format
Bind them to either the X or Y values in an XY chart

Environment:

Xcelsius 2008

Cause

Dates are being returned in a text formart and as such, charts in Xcelsius will not be able to graph them. Charts are expecting 'numerical' values.

Resolution

You will have to use VALUE() functions in Excel that will convert the incoming date text string to a numerical value that can be charted in Xcelsius.
