1256290 - IDautomation (barcodes) is not displayed in crystal report saved as PDF.

Symptom

IDautomation codes (Bar Codes) in available in Crystal report are not displayed in PDF format.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a Crystal report with ID automation Barcode
  2. Export it in PDF format.

Cause

There is a difference in the font format of PDF and Windows or if the user does not have full access on the Registry.

Resolution

WARNING: The following resolution involves editing the registry. Using the Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall the Microsoft Windows operating system.

Use the Registry Editor at your own risk. It is strongly recommended that you make a backup copy of the registry files before you edit the registry. For information on how to edit the registry key, view the 'Changing Keys And Values' online Help topic in the Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).

Refer to Note 1323322 for more information.

  1. Install CFL for the ID Automation
  2. Open the Registry editor. (Start menu -> Run-> Type regedit)
  3. Look for the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\BUsinessObjects\11.5\Crystal reports\PDF
  4. Change the value of ForceLargerFonts dword 00000001
  5. Give Full control on the PDF Key

NOTE: Registry key are equivalent for all versions of CR Designer and CR for VS.
