Symptom

  • Crystal Reports XI Release 2 Service Pack 2 Standard Edition does not connect to Oralce database.
  • Not able to Craete report on Oracle 10g database.

Reproducing the Issue

Crystal Reports XI Release 2 Service Pack 2 Standard Edition

Cause

Crystal Reports Standard edition does not support Client/Server databases except MS SQL Server database.

Resolution

  1. Crystal Reports standard edition allows to connect only to PC type databases and SQL Server databases.
  2. To connect with Oracle database from Crystal Reports please upgrade to Crystal Reports Professional Edition from Standard Edition.
