Symptom

  • "Out of Memory" Error when exporting to Excel

Environment

  • Crystal Reports 2008

Cause

  • More than 256 columns being exported. This is MS Excel limitation.

Resolution

  • Redesign the report to reduce the number of Columns in the report to less than 256
