1297514 - An error has occurred: java.lang.NullPointerException when attempting vintela SSO from all domains except the default

Symptom

  • Vintela SSO works for all users in the default domain.
  • When users from any other domain attempt to logon to InfoView using SSO URL, it takes a few minutes and then this error comes back: An error has occurred: java.lang.NullPointerException and the Authentication drop down appears blank.
  • From Tomcat stdout.log: 
96313 [http-8443-Processor24] ERROR com.crystaldecisions.sdk.plugin.authentication.ldap.internal.SecWinADAction - LoginContext failed. Failure unspecified at GSS-API level (Mechanism level: com.dstc.security.kerberos.KerberosError: Server not found in Kerberos database)

Environment

  • Vintela SSO libraries were added in XIR2 SP2.
  • The issue with multiple domains will happen in all currently released versions including XI 3.0
  • Starting with XI 3.1 this behavior was changed and failed SSO attempts should result in a login page instead of the java lang error
