Symptom

The chart crashes when directly using the number data which has format applied from an Excel spreadsheet

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create an Excel file with number data, and apply Number format (Use 1000 Separator(,)) to number data.
  2. Create a Xcelsius file with Japanese Locale. 
  3. Import the Excel file created in step 1.
  4. Create a Column Chart with the number data.
  5. The Column Chart crashes.

Cause

The issue is identified and tracked under  ADAPT01195597.

Resolution

Workaround:

  1. Import the Excel spreadsheets.
  2. Remove the format applying to the number data.
  3. Use the number data without format to create charts.
  4. Right-click the chart and select Properties from shortcut menus.
  5. In charts' properties window, click Appearance and then click Text tag.
  6. Set Number Format for Veritical (Value) Axis Labels.
