1319944 - Using Crystal Reports Date Picker launches Internet Explorer and hangs

Symptom

  • Cannot use date picker
  • Internet Explorer opens and hangs
  • The following is displayed C:\Program Files\Common Files\BusinessObjects\3.0 \crystalreportviewers11\prompting\html\calendar.html

Note: Switching off UAC (User Account Control) on Vista or turning off the protection in Internet Explorer displays the date picker/calendar.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a report with a parameter field that is a date picker
  2. Run the report   

Note:This also happens if using a report application with Crystal runtime and C#.NET V2.0.05 framework

Cause

Based on the supported platform documentation, Microsoft Vista is only compatible with CR XI Service Pack 4

Resolution

Install Service Pack 4 (SP4)
