Symptom

Environment

  • Crystal Reports XI Release 2
  • Crystal Reports 2008.

    • Reproducing the Issue

    1. Create a report based on an XML file
    2. Use an ODBC connection
    3. Select table
    4. Click ok
    • Crystal Reports 2008
    • Data Direct Driver 5.3

    Cause

    The system DSN has not been configured properly.

    Resolution

    1. Create a new system DSN or edit the existing one.
    2. In the ODBC Driver setup, click Add to select the Location Name
    3. The Configure Location window will pop up.  Select XML document and browse to select the XML file.
    4. Test the connection.
