Symptom

Set Datasource Location window doesn't show up and Crystal Reports application gets frozen

Reproducing the Issue

Open any report in Crystal Reports
Select Database in Crystal Reports menu
Click Set Datasource Location

Cause

"Set Datasource Location" window moved outside of the screen.

Resolution

RECOMMENDATION:

It is strongly recommended that you make a backup copy of the registry files before you edit the registry.

Close Crystal Reports
Click “Start”, select “Run”, type “regedit” to get Registry Editor window
Navigate to the following registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\Crystal Reports\ResizableDialogs
Make sure the string value for “Set Datasource Location” starts with two digits numbers.

For example: default string value “72,58,728,542” means:

72 – Horizontal coordinate of “Set Datasource Location” window’s left upper corner

58 – Vertical coordinate of “Set Datasource Location” window’s left upper corner

728 – Horizontal size of “Set Datasource Location” window

542 – Vertical size of “Set Datasource Location” window

5. Close Registry Editor and start Crystal Reports
