1335209 - Crystal Reports 2008 installation hangs.

Symptom

  • While installing Crystal Reports 2008 on Windows Server 2008, setup hangs near the end at registering modules.
  • While installing Crystal Reports 2008 on Windows Server 2008, setup hangs while determining the available disk space.

Environment

  • Crystal Reports 2008
  • Windows 2008 Server (32 bit or 64 bit)

Cause

  • There are some group internet policies which restrict the installation setup.
  • The anti-virus software is blocking the installation.
  • BusinessObjects Enterprise XI3.1 or BusinessObjects Edge XI3.1 is installed in the same machine.

Resolution

  • To perform the installation successfully disable group internet policies and then continue with installation.
  • Alternatively the installation can be performed by logging on as a domain administrator.
  • Switch off the virus scanner before installing Crystal Reports 2008.
  • If BusinessObjects Enterprise XI3.1 or BusinessObjects Edge XI3.1 is installed in the same machine, click Cancel to exit disk checking dialog, then click Back to the iniitail install screen, and then click Next to go on with installation.
