1339812 - Export to Excel Data Only, does not adjust the coloumn width

Symptom

Exporting to Excel (Data Only) produces columns that are the same width. 

Setting the Export options/Column Width Options - Column Width based on object in the : "Details" still results in spreadsheet with all columns the same width and users must manually adjust.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a Crystal Reports.
  2. Go to menu File
  3. Select Export
  4. Select Export Report
  5. Select Format as Microsoft Excel 97-2000 - Data Only (XLS)
  6. Select any Destination
  7. Click OK
  8. Under Options select "Details" as Column Width - Column Width based on objects in the: Details
  9. Click OK

Cause

When exporting to Excel, column width cannot be different. It'll be same for all columns exported

Resolution

  1. Go to menu File
  2. Select Export
  3. Select Export Report
  4. Select Format as Microsoft Excel 97-2000 - Data Only (XLS)
  5. Select any Destination
  6. Click OK
  7. Under Options select Column Width -  Constant Column Width (in points) and enter the column width in points. Example: 120 points
  8. Click OK

Note: Columns are now based on the points and are wide enough and doesn't have to be manually adjusted.
