Symptom

  • Creating a new connection in Database Expert in Crystal Reports.
  • Crystal reports Crashes with Error: "CRw32.exe has encountered a problem and need to be closed"

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Launch Crystal Reports.
  2. Open a report which is created in CR10.
  3. Keep the report open.
  4. Select the Start Page.
  5. Create a Blank report using the "Create New Connection" option in database expert.
